It’s hard to reconcile the buff, tattooed, kilt-wearing hottie with the long-haired, slightly pudgy and nebbish guy who looked like your cousin. “I just hid behind clothes, and I didn’t really care about what I wore, and I didn’t care about my skin or my hair,” the designer told Out in 2007. “I just felt like, There's nothing more I can do to look more attractive; what’s the point?” Oh ye of little faith.
